Animal Control Officer Benson Goodwin may be available to assist.  We urge you to call the Goffstown Dispatch Center at 603.497.4858 to inquire.
We do subscribe to a database which (if the animal is listed) helps us to identify, contact and advise owners on the whereabouts of their licensed animals. We also have a chip reader at the Station to scan for implants.

If ACO Goodwin is unavailable, the following procedures remain in place:

• Officers do not respond to animals at large unless:
• the animal is menacing, vicious or injured;
• the animal is an immediate traffic safety concern.

When animals falling outside of the above exemptions are reported to the Goffstown Dispatch Center Weare Police Officers will be notified via radio as a “Be on the Lookout” (BOLO). If officers are in the area, they will respond.

If a citizen assumes control of a stray animal (and if staffing allows) they may drop it off at WPD.
HOWEVER, PLEASE PUT SAFETY FIRST!
You should then call Goffstown dispatch at 603-497-4858, or our Police Department, at 603-529-7755 to determine whether an officer is available.

If we are unable to assist, the animal will need to be dropped off at Pope Memorial SPCA (94 Silk Farm Road Concord, NH) as we hold an agreement with the facility.
