Officer Austin Maguire

Officer Austin Maguire grew up in Weare, graduating from John Stark Regional High School. During his time at JSRHS, he was a police explorer with the Weare Police Explorers Post. Officer Maguire continued with his education, attending NHTI in Concord, NH. In 2012, he completed the requirements and attained an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice. In 2013, Officer Maguire joined the Weare Police Department as a full-time patrolman. Since that time, he has advanced further with his education and now holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Grand Canyon University. Officer Maguire was promoted to the rank of Sergeant within the Weare Police Department in 2016. In June of 2023, Sergeant Maguire accepted a full-time position with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, remaining with the agency as a part-time police officer. In January of 2024, Officer Maguire returned to his childhood hometown police department at a full-time capacity.

Professionally, Officer Maguire successfully completed the First Line Supervisor Course as well as the Mid-Manager Course at Roger Williams University. He is currently assigned as the Department’s field training and evaluation program supervisor and is trained in Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE). Additional achievements include his having been trained as a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Officer and attending the International Critical Incident Stress Foundation's (ICISF) Assisting Individuals in Crisis and Group Crisis Intervention training classes. Officer Maguire with his training and experience will be working on our agencies wellness program and initiatives.
