Officer Barry Charest (part-time)

Officer Barry Charest is originally from Lawrence, Massachusetts. After high school he attended the New England Institute of Culinary Arts in Burlington, Vermont.  In July 2001, Officer Charest enlisted with the United States Army Reserves. In 2003 Officer Charest deployed supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. Officer Charest was awarded the Global War on Terrorism Medal and the Army Accommodation Medal. In 2013 Officer Charest joined the Weare Police Department before transferring to the Manchester Police Department in 2014. Officer Charest, during his tenure with the Manchester Police Department earned three Lifesaving Awards, and the Meritorious Service Medal.  Officer Charest continues to serve in the United States Army at the rank of Sergeant First Class.

In 2020, Officer Charest returned to the Weare Police Department as a Patrol Officer. In his off time, he enjoys lobstering, hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling. He also enjoys spending as much time as possible with his wife and children.
